Harrogate Town Ladies FC

We are delighted to be launching our inaugural women’s team in 2016/17

As well as creating our own open age womens' team, we are committed to playing an active role in supporting the development of girls football. We are pleased to be forging links with Harrogate Girls League, The West Riding Girls Football League, and the recently established Sports Recruiting U18 Combination League.

Commercial Director Ged Maloney is a strong advocate of developing the Women and Girls game, and is certain that the creation of a Ladies team will strengthen the clubs position in the community.

“We have wanted to get involved in the female game for a long time but have been held back by a lack of access to high quality facilities. However, today we feel we are in a stronger position than ever to make this work, and everyone at the club is fully committed to seeing it through.

By working closely with West Riding County FA and the fantastic girls leagues we have locally, I am confident that we can play an active part in developing Women and Girls football at all levels.

We are fortunate that we now have the infrastructure and facilities which enable us to be a key part of the community, and are keen to support any local girls club in their footballing development.

There are some well established and incredibly well run female teams in Harrogate, and quite simply I want Harrogate Town to be a part of this thriving culture.

As a club, we are newcomers to the female game, and are very much in our infancy, but if there are any players out there without a club for the 2016/2017 season or any parents who want to find out what we can offer their daughter, I strongly urge you to get in touch”
