The 22 year-old midfielder joined Town from Alfreton, only weeks after making his England C debut.
Joe described his move to Harrogate Town as “a step in the right direction” as the former Alfreton man set his sights firmly on promotion.
Leesley, who made his England C debut in June 2016, became boss Simon Weavers’ sixth signing of the summer, following the arrival of former teammate Andi Thanoj earlier in the week. “As soon as I met the manager I knew I wanted to join Harrogate Town. The club is going in the right direction and obviously I have the same aspirations as a player”.
“I’ve joined Harrogate Town to get promoted. The squad is definitely capable and I know all the boys will want to go up as Champions. I’m itching to get back into pre-season and to hit the ground running”
The capture of Leesley’s signature was a priority for Town since the then Alfreton man turned in an “outstanding” performance against Weaver’s men in 2015/16 “We’ve been following Joe’s progress for quite a while, and we are delighted that he's now our player” said the Town boss.
